London Poem A Courtesy of Strangers Tamesis Flumen Experience Le Voyou The River's Tale Love at St Lazare Home

At Victoria Station I sat spindle in hand
I saw them , I saw them, the dwellers on the Argo, mostly women...
...between threads, we raise our eyes to the waves on the horizon, in the hope the waves might be bearing the Argo,

ﻓﻲ ﻣﺤﻂﺔ ﻓﻜﺘﻮﺭﻳﺎ ﺟﻠﺴﺖ ﻮﺑﻴﺪﻱ ﻣﻐﺰﻝ
ﻫﺬﻩ ﺍﻠﺠﺰﻳﺮﺓ ﺍﻠﻌﺎﺑﺴﺔ
ﻠﻘﺪ ﺭﺃﻳﺖ ﺍﻠﺠﺎﺭﻳﺎﺕ ﻳﺪﺟﻠﻦ، ﺧﻠﺠﺎﻧﻬﺎ ﻣﺜﻘﻼ ﺕ

ﺭﺃﻳﺖ ﺍﻟﺠﺎﺭﻳﺎﺕ ﻳﺤﻤﻠﻦ ﺍﻟﻂﻴﻭﺏ ﻭﺍﻟﺨﺸﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﻤﺮ
ﺭﺃﻳﺖ ﺍﻟﺠﺎﺭﻳﺎﺕ ﻳﺤﻤﻠﻦ ﺍﻟﺴﻤﻚ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺃﻟﺴﻜﺎ
ﻭﺍﻟﺴﻜﺮ ﺇﻟﻰ ﺟﺰﻳﺮﺓ ﻣﻮﺮﻳﺲ
ﻭﺍﻟﻘﻂﻦ ﻭﺍﻟﺒﺼﻞ ﺇﻟﻰ ﻣﺼﺮ
...I saw the ships carrying cotton and onions to Egypt
Elephants and cosmetics to the North and South Poles
And machine guns to friends and foes alike
But I didn't see the Argo among them.
